A song of Praise

what i'm gonna write below is a poem I wrote in 2005. Except for that poem, i concentrated my writings on the world and its pleasures or other topics that a teenager or a girl would write upon. But, slowly i started understanding the plan of the Holy one on my life. What all I have to leave to receive heavenly blessings. Some months before i destroyed all my other writings, especially my poems. Yes, it was indeed very difficult for me to throw away what i'd written with outmost intimacy; but, then i got this verse, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." " no one can serve two masters; for either he will hate one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to one and despite the other. You cannot serve God and mommon." Matthew 6:21,24. This words gave me some light. I understood why i couldn't write more poems on my Christ or write on somethings on related manner. And i thought on my life itself, where i was heading towards, where my heart really was!.  All my works were preserved until that very moment; but sooner i destroyed them all because i realized i cant keep with me what is not doctrine, it brings no upliftment to the soul, coz, my life is now surrendered under Christ my Jesus. Yes, His work has truly started on my life.

This is what i could write some years back (but submitting for this year's YPE Pampady district supliment).

Sunny days are here again.

Blossoming buds everywhere,
To laugh and cheer up at;
His beautiful day,
Which our LORD hath created.

Mourning days are all lost,
Tears which flowed have dried up.
Whistling of trees is here again,
Humming birds everywhere.
Singing with joy to their LORD GOD,
Who hath set them free to fly again.

Elegy poems, all gone,
Happiest songs are here again,
Hurricanes which came have stepped back;
For, the LORD overpowers everything.

Yes, His truth hath set me free!
So will I, sing praises to the most high;
To the most high who alone is worthy to be praised.

The Known or the Unknown

Several generations ago, during one of the most turbulent of the desert wars in the Middle East, a spy was captured and sentenced to death by a general of the Persian army. The general, a man of intelligence and compassion, had adopted a strange and unusual custom in such cases. He permitted the condemned person to make a choice. The prisoner could either face a firing squad or pass through the Black Door.

As the moment of the execution drew near, the general ordered the spy to be brought before him for a short, final interview, the primary purpose of which was to receive the answer of the doomed man to the query: "What shall it be-the firing squad or the Black Door?"

This was not an easy decision, and the prisoner hesitated, but soon made it known that he much preferred the firing squad to the unknown horrors that might await him behind the ominous and mysterious door. Not long thereafter, a volley of shots in the courtyard announced that the grim sentence had been fulfilled.

The general, staring at his boots, turned to his aide and said, "You see how it is with men; they will always prefer the known to the unknown. It is characteristic of people to be afraid of the undefined. Yet I gave him his choice."

"What lies beyond the Black Door?" asked the aide.

"Freedom," replied the general, "and I've known only a few brave enough to take it."

The story illustrates the situation many people face each day-a choice between the known and the unknown. Few have the courage to come alive, to stop being engulfed in a sea of mediocrity-humbled and dulled by failure to recognize their own potential. They lack the fortitude to stop living their lives in a mentally-chloroformed condition in that ignoble mass of humanity... the uncommitted. The choice is yours Phi-4:13

"By grace ye are saved through faith" Eph-4:28. "It's what we trust in but don't yet see that keeps us going." (2 Corinthians 5:7)

Transition

Everyone of us go through the phase of some or the other kind of transition in our lives. Dont we? Anyways I do have gone through, not just one but many a time, yes with God's grace. From kindergarden to primary school  then school life to college, graduation life to specialisation programme, from a joint family to a nuclear one, riding bycycle then a sudden shift to driving a brand new car, childishness to maturity, books and journals to internet, landphones to cellphones......and the list goes on.... In our daily lives we feel or find nothing but do take some time out of your busy lives and listen to your inner self, it has lots of stories to tell you, how circumstances changed you from the earlier person you were to the present individual you are.

 I would like to quote a statement once said by Billi Joel, an American musician and songwriter, "Out of respect for things that i was never destined to do, I have learned that my strenghs are a result of my weaknesses, my success is due to my failutres and my style is directly related to my limitations". I felt it and understood how aptly he made it out. So, our lives circumstance, like failures, weakness, positives, limitations, styles all those forms part of this so said 'transition'. They are the building stones to our very success and yes, everything obviously depends on the way how you see it, how you want to make it happen. And me from my lifes experience do feel that this transition part had a chief part in molding each individuals life.

Recently, i'd experienced another transition part. The need to be more spiritual or How to be a wise human being! As my specialisation programme got an end, i came back home, got more and more time to read The Holy Bible and took time in understanding its deapth and meaning. I sat with praying, that i get the understanding of what i'm reading and in what context the Holy Spirit is trying to convey. This new light bought in me a total difference, from life's discipline to understanding God's word. If you can bring Christ in you, His teachings in your life surely your life will change. I thank God for all those who have known Him, and yes in giving me the understanding and insight to study The Holy Bible.

Getting IN

"But the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of Heaven, a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year."    Deuteronomy 11:11,12

Today, dear friends we stand upon the verge of the unknown. There lies before us the new year and we are going forth to possess it. Who can tell what we shall find? What new experiences, what changes shall come, what new needs shall arise? But, here is the cheering, comforting, gladdening mesage from our Heavenly Father, " The Lord thy God careth for it". " His eyes are upon it away to the ending of the year."

To quote W.E.B. DuBois, 'And yet not a dream, but a mighty reality- a glimpse of the higher life, the broader possibilities of humanity, which is granted to the man who, amid the rush and roar of living, pauses four short years to learn what living means.' Have you got a clear understanding of the quote? Go thrugh again, you'll get it for sure. :)

All our supply is to come from the Lord. The land is a land of hills and valleys. It is not all smooth nor all down hill. It is the hill difficulty that drives us to the throne of grace and brings down the shower of blessings. We cannot tell what loss and sorrow and trail are doing. TRUST only. The Father comes near to take our hand and lead us on our way today. It shall be a good, blessed new year!

Well, with God's grace I could welcome ma new year 2010 with praise and worship that we had in Church(what most Christians call the wholenight prayer). During the occassion, the Pentecostal Churches and most Born-Again and Baptists Churches provide each members present in the meeting with a promise verse for the welcoming year. So, the verse which I've got is from the books of Isaish 43 verse 2; "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you".

I praise the Lord for the verse provided to me. It is the promise which i can keep the whole year and hence it has comforted me about my coming days. I wish al a very blessed year 2010. he he...enjoy...
